On Saturday (29-04-06) after a collision on the prior day outside of Thun, the cleanup and removal of damaged locos and wagons took place.

The BLS loco pair were shunting out of a side track and were most likely the cause of this accident. Fortunately there were no fatalities with only 8 people injured. The collision caused the main line between Thun and Spiez to be closed all day in hopes of reopening the next morning. As a backup plan, one of the tracks was opened as soon as possible still causing major delays on the route. The front loco damage - the question on the chat boards is "Will this loco be scrapped or repaired?" - (This is how it once looked.)
The answer, although not verified, depends on how the underlying frame looks. If it is bent, then most likely this loco will become a "parts" unit. Here it is mounnted on rollers to get it moving and out of the way.
Quite an impact. Calculations show that the impact was at 65 Km/h - 60 Km/h for the ICE and 5 Km/h for the BLS 465's.
Crunched and squashed metal - the front of the cab is fiberglass composite.
The loco or "Triebwagen" of the ICE 1. Not so happy.
Definately needs some repair, if even possible.
 Definately a "head-on" collision.
The wipers, well, they don't work either.
Impact damage went through the ICE like dominos.
An extremely "close" coupling - impact crush.
Open air restaurant. The Bord Restaurant lost one of its windows on impact.
